The HP dv5t’s keyboard is truly enjoyable to type on. Keyboard feedback is excellent. The keys have a smooth, almost-glossy coating and feel nice. The keyboard is solid and does not suffer from any flex. The surface of the touchpad is glossy, moist or dry finger no problem with that. The buttons give solid feedback and are relatively quiet. The dv5t’s HDMI port is great for connecting to external HDTVs, as it can transmit both digital video and surround sound audio. The 802.11b/g card in the HP dv5t is made by Broadcom. The optional built-in Bluetooth works well with my external Bluetooth mouse. The built-in webcam is of average quality, but then again not much can be expected from a built-in webcam. HP dv5t features two Altec Lansing stereo speakers. These speakers are a definite step up from standard generic notebook speakers in terms of sound quality. The mid-range (vocals) and highs are quite good for a laptops. Voices come through clear.
